First Lunar Data Center
Phison and Lonestar Data Holdings are launching Freedom, the first lunar data center, with Phison’s Pascari SSD. Integrated with Athena, it lifts off today, via SpaceX Falcon 9 and will be solar-powered on the moon. Liftoff from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center was 7:16 p.m. EST on Wednesday, February 26 (0016 UTC on Feb. 27).
