Leah Schoeb:

In 2019, AMD, along with Phison, paved the way towards PCIe Gen4 storage and platforms. Now in 2022, AMD has partnered with Phison once again for the first PCIe Gen5 controller technology.

As an exciting addition to this partnership, Micron will bring PCIe Gen5 SSDs to the consumer market via Crucial-branded storage offerings.

This ecosystem partnership of three companies, through the power of five technologies, will deliver an incredible uplift in bandwidth to accelerate PC performance and user experiences.

Jonathan Weech:

Today, Micron is already leading the industry in the transition to DDR5 memory products. This quintessential technology is pivotal to removing bottlenecks for high-speed data transmission.

However, that tehcnology leadership does not end with memory. By leveraging Micron’s expertise in NAND flash along with Phison’s strength in building high-performance SSD controllers, we are able to provide storage devices that will hit speeds never seen before.
