Phison was happy to show off our continued progress on multiple fronts. Our E26 is now capable of saturating PCIe 5.0 x4 in Max14um form, and we showed it operating under continuous load with only the stock M.2 heat spreader installed – a testament to its performance-to-power ratio.
Other items we proudly displayed at our demo suite:
- E27T Gen4 SSDs in M.2 2230 and 2280 form factors
- X2 Gen5 Enterprise SSD in U.2, E1.S, and E3.S form factors
- E31T Gen5 Mainstream SSD (development board)
- U21 USB4 SoC (development board)
- Phison PCIe 5.0 retimers and redrivers
See what the experts had to say at CES 2024
Phison was happy to receive several awards and mentions at the show! Here are some highlights:
Tom’s Hardware recognized Phison for offering the best SSD solutions:
Best SSD: Phison PCIe 5.0 powered drives and controllers
The Phison E26 controller has been powering the fastest PCIe 5.0 drives of the past year, but more innovation is set to arrive with the next generation E31 controller that will launch later this year.
Phison is moving the entire high-performance consumer SSD market forward. Without Phison, we’d still be stuck with PCIe 4.0 drives for at least a few more months.
HotHardware included the E26 Max14um in their 10 Best of CES 2024:
Phison PS5206-E26 Max – Powering the Future of SSDs
Long story short, the reference design SSD using the E26 controller outperformed almost everything else in its class.
PC Gamer focused their coverage on the strengths of our E27T as applied to handheld devices:
Ultra-fast PCIe 4.0 storage is heading to handheld PCs, thanks to Phison’s new 2230 SSD controller
Although not exclusively targeted at this market, the E27T is an ideal SSD controller for handheld gaming PCs. The best M.2 2230 drives you can get for the likes of the Steam Deck typically use Phison’s E21T chip.
Another CES is on the books
Lots of great Phison products are on the horizon, some sooner than later. The industry is excited about what we have to offer, and with our continued investments in R&D and other areas: Phison is just getting started!
