PHISON – PASCARI X200E 6.4 TB Review

“The Phison PASCARI X200 series is the successor to the X100 series that Phison released several years ago. These new solid state drives feature a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface delivering speeds close to 15 GB/s, with random performance exceeding 3 million IOPS. Phison introduces a new controller with a similar architecture to its predecessor, but with several improvements. Additionally, the NAND Flash has been upgraded, featuring SK Hynix 176-layer 3D eTLC (V7) chips with 512 Gb dies.

The PASCARI X200E is available in capacities of 1.6 TB ($389), 3.2 TB ($629), 6.4 TB ($1310), 12.8 TB ($2486) and 25.6 TB ($5049). There is also a different SKU called X200P which has the same hardware, but instead of using 28% of its space for over-provisioning, it only uses the default 7%. Endurance is set to 3 DWPD on the X200E, which converting to our most known “TBW” would be around 8760 TBW, 17520 TBW, 35040 TBW, 70080 TBW and 140160 TBW, respectively.
