PHISON – KIOXIA Exceria Plus G4 Gen5 2TB SSD Review

“The KIOXIA Exceria  Plus G4 is a single-sided SSD which contains the Phison PS5031-E31 Gen5 DRAMless 4-channel SSD controller along with two pieces of KIOXIA BiCS8 218-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory.  Personally speaking, it’s great to see KIOXIA memory on a KIOXIA consumer product.

Although the fact that this is a single-sided DRAMless SSD alone would identify this SSD as a low-heat Gen5 SSD ideal for laptops, the fact that that E31 controller is only a 7mm TSMC footprint also contributes.  We have reviewed two other products using the Phison E31T Gen5 controller, the Corsair MP700 Elite and the Crucial P510 most recently.”- thessdreview.com
