In September, Intel held its annual Intel Innovation event in San Jose, California. It was an opportunity for the open development community to come together, learn from each other and discuss what’s new in computing technology.

During the event, Intel invited Phison to attend a special open house focused on Taiwanese technology companies and other international industry partners. The open house provided a closer look at Intel’s Intel® Core™ processor ecosystem. Along with Phison, invitees included ASUS, ASRock, Acer, Biostar, Dell Alienware, Gigabyte, HP Omen, MSI and others. All were on hand to see the latest Intel 700 series motherboards and systems powered by the 13th-generation Intel Core processor.

Currently one of the fastest desktop processors in the world, the latest Intel Core i9-13900K is a 7nm processor that can reach a clock speed of 5.8 GHz. It features double the number of cores (24) and threads (32) compared to the previous generation, and also includes an increased L2 cache. The processor provides PCIe 4.0 and 5.0 connectivity, as well as DDR5-5600/5200 memory support that is also compatible with DDR4. Intel also introduced a new motherboard with the Intel Z790 chipset.

The experts look to Phison for the latest-generation SSDs and ICs

During the live demo of the processor platform, Intel equipped the system with two PCIe Gen5 SSDs to show off its impressively fast data transmission performance. The company claimed that the system required just half of the time to move 50 GB of data to the SSD when compared to the previous generation- PCIe Gen4 SSDs.

The most exciting part of this was that Intel chose Phison’s industry-leading E26 PCIe Gen5 SSD for the demonstration. As a world-class supplier of storage technology, Phison recently released the E26 SSD, which delivers speeds of about 10 GB/s for sequential read and sequential write.

The Phison SSDs in Intel’s demo are a testament to Phison’s excellent product quality, superior technical support and speedy time to market. No other brand of SSD was used in the demo, which cements Phison’s leading position in Gen5 PCIe SSD controllers.

Phison is honored to share its deep, long-term technical expertise through collaboration with Intel and serve as an important partner in Intel’s ecosystem. Not only does Phison offer the E26, the most advanced PCIe Gen5 client SSD—but it also has the high-quality PS7101, a PCIe Redriver IC that CPU and motherboard manufacturers can use for comprehensive debugging and verification services.

In addition to its products, Phison’s R&D team provides regular technical collaboration to CPU makers in an open lab to help accelerate the CPU development cycle and speed up time to market. The team’s dedication to technology and collaboration continue to result in a better technology ecosystem and better product performance—which help power a better world.

The Intel open house for Taiwanese technology providers was a great showcase that demonstrated not only the capabilities of Phison’s latest-generation SSD but also Phison’s commitment to strengthening its partnership and collaboration with CPU manufacturers. At Phison, we’re confident that this partnership will help accelerate the adoption of high-speed PCIe Gen5 platforms in a wide range of applications, such as gaming, content creation, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) and enterprise servers.
