According to AMD, at least 12 different manufacturers are preparing SSDs with support for the PCIe 5.0 interface — including Crucial, Apacer, ASUS, Corsair, Gigabyte, MSI, PNY and Seagate. They will go on sale this year in November. All these first-wave PCIe 5.0 drives will be based on the Phison E26 controller. According to preliminary data, they can give linear read and write speeds of approximately 3.5 and 12.0 GB, respectively, and performance of small-block operations of 1,300 thousand IOPS.
